Antique Tripod Surveyor Photography Telescope

Antique tripod used for surveyor work, photography, telescope holder, or other? I'm not sure but it is very nice tripod. I bought it from elderly lady who said she could not remember what her husband used it for. Photography rpobably but was not sure. It could be used for lots of things. It is very old. The tripod has a round top of 3 1/2 diameter. It has a hole in center of top with threads like a camera might mount on or surveyor equipment. The length of tripod is 30 1/2 collapsed and 59 extended. At the top of 3 legs, 2 of them have 1 nut gone, but you could put regular nut from hardware store on them. That in no way hinders the use fo tripod. You colud use this tripod to display something nice or would make a nice plant stand. On the round top plate it tsates ideal a chicago usa.
